PROJECT PROGRESS   | 11-14 November 2021 Today, I would be focusing on completing the VR game and also embedding it into the website. It took some time in solving some of the errors during the process of building the virtual world, but in the end, I have somehow managed to make it works. VR GAME The VR game in normal mode: Image 01: main page Image 02: In normal vision Image 03: posters Image 04: unity Image 05: food stalls Image 06: food stalls Image 07: food stalls Image 08: food stalls Image 09: food stalls Image 10: food stalls Image 11: food stalls There are six food stalls in the virtual world and each stall had its own food. Players can choose more than once in each of the food stalls. To win the game players need to choose more good food than bad food so that they can come out from the virtual world if not they will be stuck in the colour blind world. At the end of the game players can either restart or exit from the game. This will lead them back to the website....

PROJECT PROGRESS   | 04-06 November 2021 This week, I have started working on the reflective structure and have a discussion with the lecture before starting on writing the reflective essay. At the same time, I will be having a tutorial with my lecture on solving one of the VR game functions.  Reflective essay structure The essay structure serves as a guide to help me in completing writing the reflective essay.  Abby_reflextive Essay Structure (1) by ABBY LIEW MAY XING on Scribd Lecture Tutorial Tutorial on how to solve the cart button, the main page, add in lose and win page and add in food on top of the stalls. The tutorial also teaches me how to make the function works and the steps to achieving it. I have also come across the problem of not being able to close the food cart and some of the function is not working. There are times I would want to give up, but after a few more tries I manage to solve the problem that occurs.  Image 01:coding Image 02:Inspector o...

PROJECT PROGRESS   | 28-30 October 2021 After researching on how to improve the website home page, today I would be working on improving the colour palette background. To make the page looks better I have decided to create colour shapes to fill in the empty spaces. It is to make the pages looks interactive and full rather then empty.  Colour palette page Image 01: colour palette page Image 02: colour palette page Image 03: colour palette page HOME PAGE To create the effect, I uses After Effects to create the video then embedded it into the website using Adobe Dreamweaver.    PROJECT PROGRESS   | 21-24 October 2021 After the mock presentation, there is some improvement on how to speech on pitching ideas for the audience. Based on the comment from the lecture, the home page design of the website seems static and does not relate to other pages of the website. I would need to start planning on what to complete first in case of missing out on parts of the VR game.  Image 01: notes List of further improvements: Home page  The colour palette background looks empty Inside the VR game need to add on festival poster and also sign to guide players throughout the game.  Add in scoring page The sound of the food steps needs to tone down. Starts finding a suitable sound for the game background sound.  Research on how to improve the homepage After the discussion with the lecture, I come out with an idea on how to improve the homepage by creating morph effects on the shapes. This makes the overall website lively and interesting. The m...

PROJECT PROGRESS   | 14-17 October 2021 This week we will be having an upcoming mock presentation on Saturday. Thus, I've updated my PowerPoint in response to the lecturers' suggestions. I've also changed the substance of my presentation to make it feel like I'm pitching rather than reporting. In the last round presentation, I have noticed that I had missed out on adding insight to my slides. Insight is to explain about what is the insight of the project? That is it reaches out to a wide range of people by using the website and everyone can access the VR game by going to the website.  Information that I had added in the slides:  1. Question      (Why VR gamification?) 2. Insight       (Wide-ranging, Food festival)      why food ? “Food culture” Food festivals create a unique opportunity to get people thinking about how and why we eat the way we do, in a fun and creative way. The aim of the Festival is to get visito...

PROJECT PROGRESS   | 07-10 October 2021 WEB PROGRESS | COLOUR BLIND (FOOD) Base on the presentation comment, the website colour blind food page would need some further improvement on the images. Focusing on meat shows that colour blindness is having difficulties in differentiating types of meat in their daily life. This causes them to have a hard time choosing the right meat for their diet.  How Different types of foods look like? Colour blind people face many difficulties in everyday life which normally sighted people that aren't aware of it. The problem that can arise in even the simplest of activities includes choosing and preparing food, and gardening. These can also cause people to don't have that appetite to eat as the colour of the food affects our appetite. It is found that most of the children with colour blindness have often had the problem of eating food with the colour green and red as in colour blind you would not see it as fresh food. Most fresh parents w...
